Tuesday, January 31st at Olin College’s Milas Hall Auditorium!

The Yellow Dress is a powerful one woman play that stimulates a thought-provoking discussion about relationships. It tells the story of a young woman who is involved in a relationship that begins as young love, full of passion and promise and ends in tragedy. The play will help students identify the warning signs of abusive behaviors, understand the unique aspects of dating violence, learn how to help friends and family members, and develop community awareness of the issue. The Yellow Dress program is produced and directed by Deana’s Educational Theater, a non-profit organization based in Wakefield, MA that uses theater as a way of educating audiences of all ages about dating violence, bullying and promoting healthy relationships. Deana’s Educational Theater was established in 1994 after the death of Deana Brisbois, a young woman from Topsfield, MA who was a victim of dating violence. The program consists of a 30 minute performance followed by a 30 minute interactive discussion with the actors. All members of the Olin, Babson, Wellesley, and Needham community members are welcome to attend at no charge. Funding generously provided by the Honey Dew Foundation Grant.

mangocupcakes Asked:
If you brought the shirts back, could alums purchase them? Perhaps pay a few extra bucks for shipping?

My answer:

We would definitely look into it, yes!  We have quite a network of former SHEs, so it’s very likely.

I was cleaning out my room and I found my Viva La Vulva t-shirt. The Sexual Health Educators (SHEs) sold them my first year of college.

Quick poll - who would be interested if the SHEs were to be bring these back?

Anonymous Asked:
hey SHEs i was wondering if someone could let me know the different ways stress can effect your sexual health. i've heard of women missing their periods while under lots of stress, and i assume it effects your libido, but what else? fuck finals!

My answer:

I know that not only missed periods but abnormal bleeding more generally can occur (including heavier or more frequent periods) as can period-like cramping in addition to vaginal dryness, loss of or increase in sexual desire, etc.

Though it is normal for stress to effect these aspects of your health, if you’re having very abnormal health symptoms that are causing you worry, please contact one of us or visit Health Services.

Additionally, don’t forget that masturbation is a healthy stress-reliever and could provide some relief and regulation in this tough time.

Love,

The SHEs

Anonymous Asked:
When will you start the interview process for new SHEs?

My answer:

I’m so sorry that this question got lost within all the tumblr spam!  The SHEs send out applications begins their process each year early-mid November.

Congratulations to our NuSHEs!
